LOS DURAZNALES, HUEHUETENANGO
The coffee farm Los duraznales is in the town of San Antonio Huista located in the department of huehuetenango and named after the peach trees that Francisco Alvarado grows to compliment his coffee trees. Huehuetenango, meaning “place of the ancients,” is a municipality in the highlands of western Guatemala and is know for some of the highest quality coffees on the planet. This one is no exception.
This coffee, consisting of varieties caturra and bourbon, is soaked in clean water for ten hours after washing and before setting it on the patio to dry for five days. It is grown between 1700 and 1740 masl.
