SIERRA DE LAS MINAS, SANTA ROSA
Over 200 producers contribute to the lots on the Farms of Sierra de las Minas coffee. Josue Morales, the founder of Las Volcanas Coffee, co-ordinates with several community leaders to arrange the pickup of cherries in various towns. Trucks travel to the towns of San Antonio La Paz, San Martin Jilotepeque, Santa Cruz Naranjo, among others. The cherries are picked up every afternoon and are loaded into the mill at Beneficio la Esperanza each night.
This washed coffee is grown at 1,700 meters above sea level on 45 hectares of land in porous soil. This coffee is 100% Bourbon and dried on drying patios.
