ALEJANDRO VALIENTE, METAPAN
In the Metapan region of northern El Salvador, Alejandro Valiente and a team of agronomists and farm managers have found 65 farmers to create Cafenor and bring sustainable growing practices and premiums to their Bourbon and Pacas varieties. As part of a centuries old family company, Cafenor’s focus is on helping producers take care of the natural resources that are at the heart of their coffee business,. This includes solar energy, tree planting, composting, and permaculture. Their project works directly with 67 producers for 100% traceability on each micro lot.
This washed coffee consists of Pacas and Bourbon Varieties Grown at 1500 meters above seal level, they are milled on their on-site fully solar-powered dry mill, before drying on African beds to ensure quality.
